Systems Analyst is responsible for analysing business, technical, and data processing requirements to design, develop, and maintain an IT system or application that supports organisational operations. They gather and document user and system requirements, evaluate complex system and network issues, implement system modifications, and test new functionalities to ensure solutions are efficient, reliable, and aligned with business objectives. The role also includes integrating specialised platforms, such as e-commerce systems, with internal applications to enhance performance, usability, and operational productivity.
Tasks
Gather and document business and user requirements through stakeholder discussions, interviews, and workshops.
Analyse existing information systems, workflows, business processes, IT requirements, procedures, and user problems to identify issues and determine appropriate system solutions.
Prepare detailed system documentation and program specifications for software developers.
Collaborate with developers, testers, user experience (UX) teams, and business users to design and implement system solutions.
Develop and recommend improvements or enhancements to current or future information systems.
Conduct system testing, including user acceptance testing, to ensure solutions meet requirements.
Support system integration with other platforms such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), or e-commerce systems.
Monitor system performance after implementation and coordinate system modifications or improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
