Research Officer Grade Q13 carry out research and development (R&D) tasks, provide expert services, training, consultancy, presentations, and diagnostics (including technical reports, research highlights, and policy briefs).
Tasks
Conducting and leading research and development projects on herbal products with antidiabetic and anticancer properties, as well as research projects aligned with national health priorities.
Disseminating research findings through scientific publications, technical reports, research highlights, policy briefs, and presentations.
Conducting, managing, and supervising specialised diagnostic activities, including quality management, preparation of serum panels, and testing during outbreaks.
Providing consultancy, training, and expertise to government agencies, private sector organisations, institutions of higher learning, and internal researchers.
Coordinating innovation processes, commercialisation, and utilisation of research outputs, including patents, intellectual property, and commercial products.
Developing intellectual human capital and enhance personal competencies through supervision of officers and students, as well as training and courses.
Managing the administration of projects and units, including expenditures, laboratory reagents, equipment, annual reports, and intellectual property management.
Supervising and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with ISO/IEC standards for certification and accreditation.
Participating in pipe scanning, RTD, flow measurement, leak detection, and reactor usage safety and control.
