Vocational Teacher educates students in practical and technical subjects at schools and colleges, preparing them for specific occupations that generally do not require higher education. They plan and deliver lessons, provide hands-on training, and assess students’ skills, while aligning instruction with vocational standards and industry requirements to support career readiness.

Tasks

Plan and prepare vocational lessons in line with the prescribed curriculum and industry requirements.

Deliver technical and practical lessons to develop students’ occupational knowledge and skills.

Demonstrate and supervise hands-on skills training in workshops, laboratories, or practical learning settings.

Teach and supervise students’ classwork, practical activities, and classroom behaviour.

Prepare, assign, and mark assignments, tests, and practical assessments.

Assess and evaluate students’ performance and competencies against vocational learning outcomes.

Update teaching and learning materials to reflect current industry standards and vocational practices.

Coordinate with industry partners on internships, workplace exposure, and job placement opportunities.
