Assistant Medical Officer Grade U9 responsible for providing health services to the community from the aspects of curative, preventive prevention, promotion and rehabilitation in the health service system in Malaysia. Provide curative treatment, preventive care and emergency assistance services at health centers including Static and Mobile Dispensaries, General Health Outpatient Department and Accident and Emergency Department. Provide early and immediate treatment and support for all emergency cases and refer the cases for further handling to medical officers, provide assistance services in various Departments of Expertise, ward institutions and other programs.

Tasks

Interpreting specialist procedural instructions and preparing the necessary equipment to carry out the tasks according to the level of specialisation, as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the practice of Medical Assistants.

Conducting patient screening based on case priority.

Managing emergency cases in the most effective and safe manner, in accordance with procedures, protocols, and existing acts and regulations.

Assessing health status, including examinations, early detection of health problems, and screening tests to determine health levels.

Handling activities related to the treatment of non-communicable diseases (such as Diabetes, CVD, Asthma, etc.) and communicable diseases (TB, Avian Flu, SARS, etc.).

Documenting all clinical procedures performed and reports the treatment outcomes.

Identifying approaches for improvement and innovation in patient care.

Conducting audits of Medical Assistant practice standards according to established benchmarks.

Implementing infection control measures in the workplace in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act (Act 514) of 1994.
