Environmental Health Officer Grade U9 responsible for implementing duties in the aspects of management, planning, control, prevention, legislation, and legal enforcement related to public health and environmental health activities, namely disease control, food safety and quality, water supply and environmental sanitation (BAKAS), drinking water quality control (KMAM), and health at points of entry (airports, seaports, and land).
Tasks
Planning, managing, and evaluating Disease Control programmes, including communicable diseases, non-communicable diseases, and vector-borne diseases, as well as outbreak and natural disaster management.
Planning and implementing Food Safety and Quality programmes and Drinking Water Quality Control (KMAM).
Implementing legislation and enforcement activities, including prosecution and case analysis.
Planning human resources, financial, and logistical requirements.
Conducting research and development, and planning intervention programmes.
Skills
Basic
Ability to manage personnel and plan human resources, training, financial, and logistical needs.
Ability to plan, coordinate, and analyse activities.
Ability to supervise, guide, and provide advisory services.
Specific
Ability to enforce and prosecute public health laws.
Ability to handle prosecution and appeal cases related to public health laws.
Ability to plan, coordinate, and analyse public health as well as occupational and environmental health activities.
Knowledge and ability in occupational and environmental health, including risk assessment and investigation of chemical poisoning, pesticides, and occupational diseases.
Knowledge and ability to implement public health activities such as prevention and control of communicable and non-communicable diseases, vector control, food safety and quality, water supply, and environmental sanitation.
Skills in implementing public health and environmental health programmes.
