Halal Executive ensures that products, services, and operational processes comply with Islamic law and national halal certification requirements. The role manages and coordinates the halal certification and recertification process, conducts internal audits, maintains Halal Assurance Systems, and oversees compliance across production, processing, slaughtering, storage, packaging, logistics, and distribution to safeguard halal integrity throughout the supply chain. They also maintain documentation, provide staff training, support internal halal committees, and liaise with relevant authorities such as Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) to ensure continued certification and regulatory compliance.
Tasks
Develop, implement, and maintain the Halal Assurance System (HAS) across food production, meat processing, slaughtering, storage, packaging, logistics, and distribution operations.
Prepare, manage, and maintain Halal certification and recertification documentation, applications, and renewals in compliance with Shariah requirements and the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM).
Monitor production, processing, handling, storage, and logistics activities to ensure continuous Halal compliance and proper segregation of Halal and non-Halal materials.
Conduct internal and external Halal audits, including supplier, slaughterhouse, and premises inspections, and coordinate with relevant authorities during audit and certification processes.
Verify the Halal status of raw materials, ingredients, suppliers, and slaughterers to ensure validity of accreditation and compliance with relevant standards.
Provide Halal-related training and guidance to staff and management on procedures, standards, and Good Hygiene Practices (GHP).
Evaluate audit findings, manage non-compliance issues, implement corrective actions, and support continuous improvement of Halal practices.
Keep updated with local and international Halal standards, regulations, and best practices to ensure continued compliance.
Support quality control and quality assurance activities to maintain Halal integrity throughout operations.
Skills
Basic
