Pharmacist Grade UF9 responsible for improving public health through the delivery of pharmaceutical services and empowering the community in the use of quality, safe, and effective medicines.

Tasks

Supplying medicines to outpatients to ensure that patients’ pharmacotherapy is safe, effective, and achieves optimal therapeutic outcomes, while enhancing medication adherence.

Providing pharmaceutical care services to patients through medication counselling services, including activities such as Medication Therapy Adherence Clinic (MTAC) and Pharmacy Home Care Services (PFHC).

Drug information services, drug enquiries, medication safety, and quality use of medicines to ensure that services provided by the Pharmacy Department are at the optimum level.

Managing pharmacy logistics to ensure adequate availability of medical supplies (medicines, non-medicines, vaccines, and medical gases) to meet customer needs through efficient, planned management systems in accordance with circular policies and regulations in force.

Manufacture and preparation of sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical preparations in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and aseptic practices to ensure product quality and safety.

Implementation of enforcement and licensing activities in accordance with the provisions of the Poisons Act 1952 and the Medicines (Advertisement and Sale) Act 1956.

Planning, managing, coordinating, and implementing activities for handling complaints and information, sampling, screening and profiling, intelligence, and raids on targets suspected of violating the enforced Acts involving commercial activities (sale of pharmaceutical, traditional, and cosmetic products) through conventional channels and new media.

Implementing product registration/cosmetic notification schemes through evaluation of technical data, laboratory analysis, as well as studies and information received from international agencies.

Implementing regulatory control over the quality of pharmaceutical products in the market through random sampling and analytical testing.

Managing product recall schemes for pharmaceutical products that are of poor quality and hazardous to consumers.
