Competent Person (CP) - Boilerman is responsible for the supervision, operation and maintenance of industrial boiler and heating systems, including low- and high-pressure boilers, within facilities such as power plants and large buildings. The role oversees installation, inspection, repair and preventive maintenance activities. They may also coordinate and supervise boilermen and technical staff, manage energy utilisation, and respond to operational faults or emergencies to minimise risks and downtime.
Tasks

Monitor boiler performance and analyse operational data to improve efficiency, reliability, and energy utilisation.
Maintain accurate operational, maintenance, and safety records and reports.
Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to support boiler reliability and plant operations.

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and engineering diagrams.
Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
