Pilot/Pilot Examiner Grade AT13 responsible for ensuring that civil aviation operations are conducted safely through the oversight of licensing for all aircrew and civil aviation Flight Dispatchers, the issuance of air operator certificates, and continuous surveillance of all air operators engaged in civil aviation activities, the assessment of aircrew and aircraft competency through flight testing, and the conduct of aircraft accident investigations when necessary.
Tasks
Assisting the Director in ensuring that Flight Theory Tests and flight tests are conducted responsibly.
Assisting in the implementation of development, quality maintenance, and control of practices and procedures for crew licensing.
Assisting in the development and establishment of licensing rules, directives, and procedures, which are then communicated to operators.
Conducting inspections from time to time to ensure operators comply with the established aviation regulations, quality, and procedures.
Assisting in verifying that operators have adequate facilities, training, and personnel to carry out licensing tasks.
Coordinating the activities of licensing personnel with other divisions within the DCA.
Establishing and maintaining flight test programs for crew for the purpose of issuing licenses and ratings.
Conducting assessments of training programs and syllabus at accredited flight schools.
Assisting the Director in ensuring that aircraft testing standards in the country remain at a high level through thorough and careful supervision of flight test programs for new prototype, series, and in-service aircraft.
Assisting the Director in determining flight test and simulator units in approving flight test organisations in the aviation industry.
Skills
Basic
Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
Ability to plan tasks effectively and perform work efficiently.
Good personality and ability to act professionally, especially when dealing with customers.
Specific
Ability to write accurate and high-quality reports.
Experience as a flight instructor.
Proficiency in computer usage.
