Tasks
Conduct site inspections and feasibility and sustainability assessments to inform green technology design solutions.
Design energy-efficient systems for solar thermal, biomass, hydro, and other renewable technology applications using specialised software and modelling tools.
Prepare technical drawings, diagrams, plans, and reports for design proposals, approvals, and green certification applications.
Specify and recommend sustainable materials, components, and production methods to ensure system efficiency, durability, and environmental compliance.
Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to integrate designs and refine technical specifications.
Ensure all designs comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Support installation, commissioning, and testing activities to verify system performance.
Monitor operational systems and evaluate performance, efficiency, and environmental impact for continuous improvement.
Advise clients and project teams on sustainability practices, carbon reduction strategies, and regulatory compliance.
Develop project proposals and conduct cost and risk assessments for green technology projects.
Skills
Basic
Apply critical thinking and analytical skills to develop and optimise green technology systems.
Apply mathematical, scientific, and engineering principles to design efficient and sustainable systems.
Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Manage projects and time efficiently, including planning, documentation, and coordinating multiple tasks.
Use technical and engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Civil 3D) for modelling and drafting.
