They prepare cost estimates, budgets, bills of quantities, and tender documentation, and support procurement by evaluating quotations and tenders. They monitor project cost performance, value completed work, handle interim and final accounts, assess variations and claims, and maintain records and systems to support effective cost control and project decision-making.

Tasks

Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities for construction projects.

Manage and monitor project costs throughout the project lifecycle, including procurement, progress payments, variations, claims, and cost adjustments.

Carry out cost planning, cost risk assessment, and cost control to support efficient project expenditure.

Prepare tender and contract documentation and maintain related project records.

Analyse contract terms and provide contractual advice on cost-related matters.

Evaluate quotations and tenders, and prepare tender analysis reports for clients.

Liaise with contractors, clients, and project managers on project cost, valuation, and contractual matters.

Negotiate with contractors, suppliers, and vendors on material, labour, and other project costs.

Maintain financial records, valuations, and cost reports related to project performance.
