Foundation Engineer designs, analyses, and supervises the construction of foundations to ensure a structure is stable, safe, and capable of supporting its intended loads. They assess soil and ground conditions to determine appropriate foundation types and collaborate with geotechnical engineers, architects, and contractors to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective foundation solutions.

Tasks

Conduct site investigations and perform soil testing to evaluate ground conditions.

Design foundation systems, including shallow foundations, piles, and deep foundations.

Prepare technical reports and foundation design calculations.

Supervise foundation construction and subcontractor activities to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and safety standards.

Determine and specify construction methods, materials, and quality standards for foundation works.

Coordinate with geotechnical and structural engineers, and construction teams, to support foundation design and implementation.

Implement quality control and inspection procedures to ensure foundation works meet safety and environmental requirements.

Participate in site meetings and monitor project progress and schedules for foundation works.

Assess risks and propose mitigation measures for foundation works.
