Tasks

Providing aviation meteorological briefings and prepares Terminal Aerodrome Forecast (TAFOR), Two Hours Trend Type Landing Forecast (TREND), flight documentation, and weather warnings to ensure operational safety.
Continuously monitoring weather conditions, waves, and winds in Malaysian waters, particularly in the presence of tropical storms in national waters or typhoons in adjacent waters.
Conducting earthquake monitoring, processes seismological data, manages databases, and disseminates earthquake information.
Producing weather and climate information available in databases, performs quality control, and ensures the smooth operation of the Climate Information System (MAKLIM).
Managing agrometeorological data and ensures the quality of data from the station network.
Managing the operation, processing, and maintenance of meteorological satellite systems and data, as well as the provision of imagery.
Planning and coordinating inspection, maintenance, and overhaul programmes for conventional meteorological observation equipment at principal stations and those operated by external agencies.
Managing meteorological ICT systems, including the Global Telecommunication System (GTS), Aeronautical Fixed Telecommunication Network (AFTN), message switching, databases, and compliance with World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards.
Conducting research, manages international relations, oversees corporate communications, and develops departmental human resources and quality.
