Tasks
Estimate the size, shape, and weight of objects, logs, cargo, or equipment to be moved and determine appropriate rigging methods and equipment.
Prepare, select, assemble, and operate rigging equipment, including cables, ropes, wires, pulleys, winches, cranes, and other lifting devices.
Install, adjust, repair, and maintain cables, ropes, wires, pulleys, and other rigging components for construction, maritime, aircraft, railway, or drilling operations.
Secure loads and materials for lifting, transport, or installation, ensuring stability and safety.
Inspect rigging and lifting equipment for safety, compliance, and proper functioning, performing maintenance as required.
Join, splice, and fit attachments to cables, ropes, wires, or fibre optic networks using mechanical or fusion techniques.
Coordinate with engineers, crane operators, and crew members to execute lifts, movements, and installation tasks.
Assist in assembling, disassembling, and erecting structures such as derricks, scaffolding, or prefabricated panels.
Test cable systems, splices, and rigging setups to ensure functionality and reliability.
Follow safety regulations and standard operating procedures in all rigging, lifting, and installation activities.
