Assistant Security Officer Grade KP5
Assistant Security Officer Grade KP5 responsible for providing advisory services, monitoring, and enforcing laws, regulations, and directives on protective security to government agencies, Key Targets, Prohibited Areas, and Restricted Places, including relevant private sector entities, in order to maintain and enhance the level of physical, document, personnel, and ICT protective security, with the objective of safeguarding assets and official secrets from various security threats.
Tasks
Planning, summarising, coordinating, implementing, providing advisory services, monitoring, and enforcing asset security control systems, covering physical, document, and personnel security in accordance with the Official Secrets Act 1972 (Act 88), Protected Areas and Protected Places Act 1959 (Act 298), as well as Security Directives and Permanent Instructions for Key Targets.
Coordinating and providing advisory services on official secret, document, and information security, and conducts inspections, investigations, and security vulnerability assessments.
Coordinating personnel security, including screening systems, management of public officers holding Scheduled Security positions, investigation of personal security breaches, and continuous security training.
Coordinating physical security, including policies on equipment and facilities, issuance of security passes, identity cards, and conference accreditation.
Providing technical advisory services to Government Department Security Committees on security-related issues.
Conducting inspections and investigates cases of security breaches and government secret leaks.
Coordinating ICT security policies, security awareness programmes, ICT development research, as well as physical and environmental security of information centres.
Coordinating the management of Key Targets and Restricted/Prohibited Areas, providing training to occupants, and assisting in the implementation of Tim Naziran programmes.
Reviewing, evaluating, and recommending corrective actions for security weaknesses in all aspects.
Preparing technical reports related to the selection and appointment of private security service providers.
