Photographer Grade B8 responsible for taking photos, editing, preparing captions, and sending photographs of formal and informal activities to Photo Library Unit for reference and retention. Responsible for making film/audio or soundless video coverage, filming a special programme, providing equipment, maintaining the cleanliness of the studio and darkroom as well as ensuring safety of equipment inside and outside the department.
Tasks

Representing the department in meetings regarding official national photography coverage at ministries/agencies.
Supervising and coordinating photography assignments carried out by Photographers under their responsibility.
Identifying programs requiring photography coverage and determining the necessary photography equipment, including ICT tools.
Preparing specifications for photography equipment to be procured.
Ensuring all equipment under control is maintained in good condition and kept safe.
Identifying training needs for Photographers under their supervision.
Supervising Photographers under their responsibility, including overseeing staffing, discipline, and task assignments.
Chairing Photography Unit meetings regularly and evaluating the performance of officers under their responsibility.
Coordinating practical training for students in the field of photography.
Skills
Basic
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in Bahasa Melayu and English.
Ability to manage administrative, service, and financial matters.
Ability to work in a team as well as plan and manage tasks.
Basic communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to use ICT applications.
Specific
Ability to operate camera equipment and knowledge of studio lighting and backgrounds.
Computer skills.
Knowledge of media cataloguing including classification and indexing.
Knowledge of media technology including manual, automatic, analog, and digital systems.
Knowledge of photo printing and types of film.
Knowledge of photography ethics including protocols, etiquette, and dress code.
Knowledge of photography techniques including outdoor and studio photography.
Knowledge of storage management including material storage and store maintenance.
Skills in handling SLR cameras and basic video camera operations.
