Sound Mixer is responsible for recording, mixing, and managing all audio elements across film, television, music, and live event productions to ensure clear, balanced, and high-quality sound. This role involves capturing, editing, and integrating dialogue, music, and sound effects, synchronizing audio with visual content, and overseeing the technical operation of audio equipment and the audio crew. They collaborate closely with directors, producers, and post-production teams to achieve the desired auditory experience across media formats.

Tasks

Set up and operate audio and recording equipment for productions or events.

Mix and balance dialogue, music, sound effects, and ambient sounds to achieve the desired audio quality.

Edit, synchronise, and assemble audio with visual content in collaboration with directors and editors for final production.

Apply audio effects, including equalisation, compression, and reverb, to enhance sound.

Troubleshoot and maintain audio equipment and manage digital audio assets to ensure optimal performance.

Collaborate with directors, producers, and editors to meet creative sound requirements.

Ensure compliance with safety, technical, and quality standards during production.
