Overseeing the application of work safety and related procedures.

Identifying business opportunities and determining the products to be manufactured.

Overseeing the selection, training and performance of staff.

Negotiating with suppliers, customers and other organisations.

Representing the department in its dealings with other divisions of the enterprise or with external agencies.

Ensuring all production processes meet the manufacturing specification.

Ensuring optimal utilisation of manpower, machine and equipment.

Managing, planning, scheduling and monitoring the tasks of other workers.
